Is Pilates right for me?

The great thing about Pilates is that it's suitable for (almost) everyone. Unless you have been advised by your GP to abstain from physical activity you will find the exercises very accessible and most can be adapted to suit you and your body's needs.

Pilates is recommended by Osteopaths, Physiotherapists & GPs as part of a rehabilitation process as it helps to developmind muscle control. Equally if you already active it will help with coordination,  flexibility and general body awareness.

Can I just turn up?

All new clients need to fill out an enrolment form, which I will send to you. This is a short form which asks questions regarding your medical history, current state of health & reasons for starting class. It helps to know your aims and objectives so I can tailor a class to your requirements.

What do I wear?

Do I need to bring anything?

Do you operate a cancellation policy?

Comfortable but fitted clothing. It is helpful to see the shape of your body as you move but it's more important that you can move without restriction. It's always a good idea to bring some socks too.

Just yourself. I provide mats, cushions and all small equipment.

If you are keen to lose weight it might be more productive to look at your current diet & eating habits. Unfortunately, even if you practiced Pilates five times a week on top of training at the gym you will never out-exercise a bad diet. The good news is that as you become more aware of your posture and core muscles you will see more tone in the abdominal area along with increased feelings of well-being as you learn to move more mindfully. These will be powerful motivators in helping you achieve your goals.

In the beginning it’s a good idea to come to class once a week. This gives you a chance to grasp the basic principles and terminology before we progress to the more advanced exercises. Most people find after a 6-12 weeks they become more ‘body aware’ and start to notice small changes.

All One-to-One and Duet sessions must be cancelled with a minimum of 24hrs notice or the full session fee will be charged (£52)

There is no cancellation fee with the Group Classes but it is always helpful to know if you cant make it.  This allows me to offer your place to others on the waiting list. Please note that if you purchase a block of classes you have a set number of weeks in which to take those classes. This will be explained upon booking.
